Editorial and graphic design with a strong conceptual and typographical bias.
Our designs set out from the assignment’s individual characteristics. Each new project poses a new question that demands a novel answer. Our approach is critical and exploratory, which leads to distinctive results that are highly diverse. No single design is the same.

Piet Paris Fashion Illustrations
A dialogue between disciplines
A graphic and editorial book design for fashion illustrator Piet Paris. 115 illustrations printed on bright-white mc paper devided over 11 chapters. Sections of thin white pages seperate the chapters. The cover of the book and the title pages are printed with the graphic elements we designed, that by now have become the signature trademarks of the corporate identity of Studio Piet Paris. This book does not only give an overview of 20 years of illustration, but it is also a statement in the development of the office.
Piet Paris. Fashion Illustrations belongs to the selection of The Best Dutch Book Designs 2010.
Book, 160 pages, 23.5 x 33 cm, bound. Commissioned by d’Jonge Hond and Studio Piet Paris, 2010.
The photos where taken during the exhibition in Amsterdam, October 2010. Exhibition design by Event Architecture.

subtle structure
In this corporate identity design the centre line structures the dataflow, showing left of the centre line all general information - where the company name literally pops up - and on the right the more specific information. The addressee and reference can therefore be found in the light grey area on the right-hand side of the stationary. Also, on the business card the personal information is printed on the right-hand side of the fold, printed crosswise on the company name. To keep unity between the two halves the left line recurs as a formal element. Differences in font sizes create a further distinction between the types of information. Coppens & Alberts additionally designed a poster for the festive inauguration of the new name, signifying the official handing over of the company. The poster shows the silhouettes of the predecessors on the reverse, shining through the silhouettes of the three new partners on the front.Commissioned by oomen Architecten, 2006—07
